DATAMARK Webinar: Keys to Success RECAP
The Keys to Success Webinar showcases the long-term relationship between DATAMARK and FedEx. SIG President Dawn Tiura leads this webinar and comprises leaders from the respective companies Herb Wells from FedEx and Bill Randgag from DATAMARK. Each leader is joined by other experts from their companies: James Whittington, Jerry Kosecki, and Adela Nazarova from FedEx and Matt Lochausen, DATAMARK’S Vice President.
The relationship between FedEx and DATAMARK has lasted over 30 years and continues to be a shining example of a partnership in the business world. Built on a foundation of mutual respect and genuine relationships, FedEx and DATAMARK have been in contract since DATAMARK was first founded. This relationship has survived due to various factors that will be discussed below.
This webinar begins with a discussion of what it takes to have such a long-term relationship. FedEx and Datamark’s relationship has lasted thus far due to excellent collaboration and mutual benefits, according to Wells. Wells also discusses how FedEx and Datamark are constantly communicating with all types of employees at all levels. For example, prior to COVID-19, there were many in-person meetings and check-ins every year. In addition, there are daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with several different departments to ensure everyone is always on the same page. Wells and Randgag also describe that solving problems together helped strengthen the relationship further, whether in person or virtually.
The main point discussed is how DATAMARK goes above and beyond for their clients is how smoothly the transition from in-office to working from home went during the beginning of COVID-19. Nazarova and Wells discussed how impressed they were by how well DATAMARK treated their employees during the pandemic and how quickly all employees were set up with the internet and equipment needed to work from home. This instance helped to confirm further why FedEx and DATAMARK have worked so well together over the years. Both companies’ culture has an emphasis on employee appreciation as well as being able to provide the best customer service from anywhere in the world, even during a pandemic.
The webinar closes with a discussion about FedEx and DATAMARK evolving together through technology and positive relationships. Since the 1990s, DATAMARK has continued to grow and develop with FedEx, initially doing every process by paper, and now all operations are done digitally. While growing together, FedEx has introduced DATAMARK to new clients internally and externally. A company's average contract with DATAMARK is about 15 years, so the contract with FedEx long exceeds the average and seems to be here to stay.
The Keys to Success Webinar does an excellent job showcasing a prime example of a business relationship. Strong internal teams from both companies help this relationship continue to thrive. Constant internal networking and meetings help to keep not only the contract intact but also the personal relationships that have been formed over the years. As COVID-19 winds down, the hope is to restart in-person meetings, and site walks to continue this contract to the best of both companies’ abilities.
